The Utility Department is responsible for maintaining the Utility Billing System for water, wastewater, street maintenance, limbs and debris pickup. The City maintains over 1,000 active accounts, which are billed on a monthly basis. All Utility rates are set by City Ordinances, set forth by City Council. All residential customers on city services are required to have garbage pick-up.

To apply for water, sewer and garbage service within the City of Pinehurst, you will need to come by our office located at 2497 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

All Billing questions should be directed to the Billing and Collection's Office at (409) 886-3873. Automated payments are now available, check with office for a form.
Water meters are read by the 8th of each month. Because the ground usually stays moist here there is usually mud/dirt over the meter. Our meter readers know just where the meter dials are so they do not always clean out where the meter is. They can move just enough mud/dirt to see the reading.

All utility bills are due by the 10th of each month, after the 10th a 10% late fee will be assessed. Services will be disconnected on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. For the water to be reconnected on that day, payment must be in before 3:30 p.m. Each bill that remains unpaid will have to pay a $25.00 reconnect fee. As a courtesy to the public, the City will mail out disconnect notices.
For your convenience payments can be made by dropping them off in the Drop Box. Available 24 hours a day, it is located directly across the parking lot from the front door of City Hall. Payments can also be mailed, bank draft, or brought in person.
The city contracts with Republic Services for trash collections.
Pick up days are Tuesdays and Fridays.
One white good item on Fridays
Trash cans or bags can be placed at curbside. Each container or bag cannot weigh more than 35 pounds. Brush must be cut in lengths of 4 feet or less, weigh no more than 35 pounds, and be tied in a bundle not to exceed 18 inches in diameter. Appliances must be (Freon removed and properly tagged by Licensed professional), and drain water heaters.
The City of Pinehurst has one community clean-up a year. This is usually held in April; but, you can check with the City on Service Sites.
